FurnisherPro ("we", "us", "our") is a software-as-a-service platform designed for UK furniture retailers. We are committed to protecting your personal data and complying with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

2. What data we collect

We collect the following categories of data:

  • Account data: name, email address, business name, phone number when you register.
  • Business data: orders, customers, products, invoices, and payments you enter into the platform.
  • Usage data: pages visited, features used, timestamps — collected automatically to improve the service.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, device type, for security and fraud prevention.
  • Payment data: billing information (processed securely by Stripe — we do not store full card numbers).

3. How we use your data

We use your data to:

  • Provide and operate the FurnisherPro platform.
  • Process payments and manage subscriptions.
  • Send transactional emails (account creation, password reset, invoices).
  • Send product updates and announcements (you can unsubscribe at any time).
  • Improve and debug the platform using aggregated usage analytics.
  • Meet legal and regulatory obligations.

4. Legal basis for processing

Under UK GDPR, we process your data on the following legal bases:

  • Contract performance: to deliver the service you signed up for.
  • Legitimate interests: to improve the platform and prevent fraud.
  • Legal obligation: where required by law (e.g. tax records).
  • Consent: for optional marketing communications.

5. Who we share data with

We share data only with trusted service providers who help us operate the platform:

  • Clerk — authentication and user management
  • Supabase / PostgreSQL — database hosting
  • Vercel — hosting and infrastructure
  • Stripe — payment processing
  • Resend — transactional email delivery

All providers are contractually bound to process data only as instructed and to maintain appropriate security. We do not sell your data to any third parties.

6. Data retention

We retain your account and business data for as long as your subscription is active, plus 7 years after cancellation to meet UK financial record-keeping requirements. You may request earlier deletion of personal data (subject to legal retention obligations) by contacting us.

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access your personal data.
  • Correct inaccurate data.
  • Erase your data (right to be forgotten), where legally permissible.
  • Restrict processing of your data.
  • Data portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format.
  • Object to processing based on legitimate interests.
  • Withdraw consent at any time where we rely on consent.

To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@furnisherpro.com. We will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

8. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption in transit, encrypted storage at rest, role-based access controls, and regular security reviews. However, no online service is 100% secure — please keep your login credentials safe.

9. Cookies

We use essential cookies required for authentication and platform operation. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. By using FurnisherPro, you consent to essential cookies.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email or via an in-app notice. Continued use of FurnisherPro after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
